Poll Shows That A MILLION People Regret Their #Brexit Vote To Leave The European Union
Independent- More than one million people regret their vote to leave the European Union, an opinion poll carried out in the wake of the Brexit decision suggests. Of the 17.4 million people who voted Leave, 1.1 million now say they wish they had not, if the results of a Survation poll are to be believed. The poll found that people who used Brexit as a protest vote – or thought their vote “wouldn’t matter” – are now having second thoughts. One Twitter user posted: “I personally voted Leave because I believed these lies and I regret it more than anything. I feel genuinely robbed of my vote.” The Leave camp polled 1.3 million more votes than Remain in the 23 June referendum.
Full disclosure: I still don’t know what Brexit means and probably never will. I have a cursory understanding of what happened but not a full grasp at all. I can’t be bothered to try and understand it but I will say this, it is hilarious that over A MILLION people now regret the vote they made after the fact. That’s one million people who are basically like, “Just kidding! We were kidding! We didn’t mean to vote for this super important thing despite voting anyway. JK, guys. JK. LOL.” This is why I rarely vote on anything. Because I don’t know what the hell is going on out there. It’s borderline reckless for a guy like me to vote. I spend more time jerking my dick off than I do reading up on current issues (example, I don’t know what Brexit is). A guy like that shouldn’t vote and it feels like those are the dudes in the UK who are like “whoops” now. They probably should’ve read up a bit before voting.
Another example, I got a thing in the mail a couple weeks ago saying I might have to do jury duty and that scared the hell outta me (my number wasn’t drawn so I didn’t end up having jury duty). I should not be allowed to judge anyone. I’m 27 years old and still wipe up spills with the bottom half of my shirt. That’s not a man who should be deciding the fate of anything. I realize things like voting and jury duty are my duties as an American but it’s probably better that I’m self aware enough to know I shouldn’t be involved in either process. I feel more comfortable leaving that to the people who know what’s going on.
